Bring Your Gifts

Here at Compass, we’re open to and embrace the work of the Holy Spirit in all of our gatherings and in the entirety of our services.
On Sundays, we dedicate about 10 minutes before the sermon to what we call “open worship”. It’s a dedicated time to respond to God’s invitation to encounter Him, to emotionally and physically engage, and to be spiritually transformed. During this time, you might witness heartfelt prayers, petitions, and supplications, testimonies and confessions, poems, prophetic messages, scripture readings, and other evidences of the spirit at work in the people of the congregation.
In our church, we have diversity of gifts, and the scriptures testify that this is a good thing! We delight in making space for the corporate practice of these gifts with the intention of seeking to glorify God and edifying one another. We also embrace and encourage the wisdom of personal discernment– recognizing that none of us have yet attained perfection in our walk with the spirit. We bring our gifts humbly, entrusting them to our Father in Heaven, that He may do His full work in us.
